This is Jane from @smore_house and I, taken at some point during Quilt Market. Jane is my sew sister and to whom I owe SO much… 😍⠀ ⠀ Months upon months were spent preparing our booth for market and, as any of you who have exhibited at a show will appreciate, there is a mountain of tasks that need to be done in order to prepare for a few short days at show. A lot of these tasks need to be carried out in a particular order, with many not being able to be addressed until the tasks before it had been competed, and the ones before that, and the ones before that etc. (I’m sure you get my point 😉). ⠀ ⠀ We also had a group of 15 super talented bag makers, both here in Australia and also in the US and Canada as well, who we had to organize with fabric and hardware sampling, decide was making what, decide on shipping dates and addresses etc. ⠀ ⠀ Needless to say, there was a LOT to organize… 😳⠀ ⠀ And in case you can’t tell, I absolutely LOVED it! No I’m not joking, and no I’m not crazy (I don’t think anyway…?! 🤪😂) BUT! It wouldn’t have been the amazing journey it was without my sew sister by my side every step of the way. ⠀ ⠀ Living in the US meant Jane was easily able to handle tasks that would have been a little more difficult for me, such as purchasing booth supplies and decorations locally, calling the necessary suppliers to talk to actual humans (instead of my googling) and so on and so forth. ⠀ ⠀ The support Jane provided in literally every aspect of preparing for market was amazing, SO very much appreciated, and something I will never forget. To say thank you doesn’t seem like enough, but until new words are created that mean even more than that, thank you Jane… for EVERYTHING!! 😘😘😘😘😘⠀ ⠀ You are a true gem and I look forward to our next adventure together. 😉

Remember our post a few days ago where we told you the story of how we met Calista from @wonderfilspecialtythread right at the end of @quiltmarket…? Well, here is our little experiment with some of the Spaghetti thread she gave us! 🧡 ⠀ ⠀ Their spaghetti thread is a 12wt thread so it’s nice and thick, and perfect for top stitching on bags in particular. We usually prefer to do a triple top stitch when top stitching, as it gives a solid and professional finish. Being a 12wt thread, Calista said just to use that as the spool/top thread, and normal thread in the bobbin (such as a 40-60wt) and there will be no need to do a triple stitch anymore….⠀ ⠀ My gosh, she was not wrong!! 😍 This thread was a dream to stitch with and gave such a beautiful, solid finish! And it was MUCH faster than stitching a triple stitch as well! 🙊 The spaghetti is a game changer!! Well and truly!! ⠀ ⠀ Now to order more so we have ALL the colours…⠀ 😉🌈⠀ ⠀ To find out more about @wonderfilspecialtythread click through to their profile and then on to their YouTube channel! But be warned!! A LOT of gorgeousness awaits you!! 🙊
