The Gemma is such an awesome pouch! I love the rounded top, it allows wide opening of the pouch and easy access to contents. The pattern was easy to follow and the finished product looked very professional. I’m thrilled with it!

This is a lovely pouch. I made the small size and once I had mastered the instrucions I was very pleased with the finished product. I kept the front in one fabric.

The final product, large size is a delight and will substitute for my hands-free messenger bag . However there are a couple of suggestions I’d like to make. I hope they are helpful: The strap connector piece in which the D-ring is enclosed, is ridiculously small. It is inadequate to hold the D-ring out of the way when sewing blind from the inside. (Yes, I broke a needle!) Next time I’d make it longer and rectangular and not the fiddly shape in the pattern. The inner zipper pocket is too close to the top. I’d draw the guidelines 1 1/4″ rather than 3/4″ from the top. Next time I might omit the inner zipper pocket and try to turn the bag out through the lining. I used Annie’s Soft and Stable rather than fusible fleece, trimming it right back to the seam line. Thanks Lisa. now I’m off to make the V-pouch.
