Yes, you read right… I’m starting a blog…! Not one that I write and post to every day, or every week or even every month… Just every now and again if I feel I have something worth sharing with you… 🙂
This concept of ‘writing a blog’ is very new to me, let me tell you. Yes, I’ve perused other peoples blogs from time to time, and considered joining this magical world of ‘blogtopia’ for a while now… But have never really felt the need… Until now…
I have a couple of quick little tutorials I want to share with you. Nothing exciting and nothing innovative and completely brand new (what is, in this day and age, really…?), but a few techniques and processes I use to create different *things* (more to be revealed later).
I’m also putting a few things in place ready for when I run my first ever sew along in my patterns group on Facebook – and yes, by me writing it here, it is confirmation that yes, there will be a sew along for the Hang About Toiletry Bag! Woohoo!!!
If you have been wanting to make the Hang About Toiletry Bag but have been unsure about the difficulty of the pattern etc., have no fear! Throughout the sew along I will step you through each, err, step (well, duh! 😀 ) and together we WILL succeed! I know many of my customers would like to make some as Christmas gifts so best jump in and get started! (Well, in a few weeks anyway…)
It seems this year is a year of many firsts for me –
- First time purchasing a domain and setting up my own website
- First time writing a blog post
- First time using Photoshop Elements (as I type this, I’m waiting for my photos to be imported into Elements Organiser… It’s taking a while as I seem to have a fair few photos!)
- First time participating in a collaboration with a couple of fantastic fellow bag PDF designers (RLR Creations and Little Moo Designs)
- First time being featured in One Thimble digital e-zine
- And probably many more I’ve forgotten as well!
I guess that’s probably enough rambling for now…
If you’ve read this far – congratulations! I promise future blog posts will be much more exciting and useful than this one… 😀 But for now, tell me – what would YOU like to see me blog about???
Until next time, happy sewing! Lisa 🙂
Brilliant, I will enjoy reading your blogs :0) as a topic for the future, I would love to know where the ideas and inspiration for your patterns come from? Where to do you start and how do your ideas come to life ;0)
Thanks Terrie! And what a wonderful suggestion! I will definitely add that idea for a blog post to the list! 🙂
excellent, now I will be able to get those beautiful sewing lines you have Lisa ( I hope hahaha),
Absolutely Rosemarie! Well, I’ll try and help with that anyway! LOL 😀
I need all the help I can get 🙂
Different techniques and tools of the trade for great bag making! Will look forward to everything you have in store for us! 🙂
Thanks Stacey, will see what I can come up with! 😀
Your tips and tricks would be fabulous, I’m sure you have a few lol.
Yes I have a few to get things started Monika! 😀 😉
Congrats on the blog!! I would love to read about any tips and tricks that you have found to be useful 🙂
Thanks Lisa! I’m sure I’ll be sharing a few tips and tricks with you over time 😉
Congrats, on the blog, looking forward to reading and learning.
Thanks Melody! 🙂
Will love reading your blog. I would like to know how I can become a tester. I sew and give away. My husband says stop doing that! You make all kinds of beautiful things and you can start selling them. So I am looking for a name for my sewing business. Can’t wait to hear from you I am a follower on Facebook.
Thanks Linda! At the moment I have enough testers but may be doing a tester call in my patterns group on Facebook so keep an eye out for that. 🙂 (www.facebook.com/groups/twoprettypoppets)
Congratulations Lisa on your Blog, I look forward to reading it & for your continuous success.
I to look forward to your tips & tricks. Also your tutorials.
AND all the NEW PATTERNS you come out with.
Best of luck to you.
I am excited to hear your hints and tips. You could even do little video tutorials for bits people frequently struggle with or that are hard to explain in static photos.
Congratulations and good luck.
Thanks Jodi! Yes video snippets could be a good idea at some point for sure!
Most things that I would like to see you blogging about have been mentioned in the comments already so how about we find out a bit more about you, where you create, I’m so nosy, I love looking at sewing spaces LOLL. Glad you started a blog. Best of luck. Oh and I was hoping to join the sew along but have a backlog of orders so can’t promise anything. I’ll see what I can do. Should be fun watching how things go even if I can’t join in though.
Hi Maria! Oh yes, I guess I could show you my creating space though I’m not sure it’s very exciting, LOL! I’ll see what I can do… ?
When is the hanging bag sew along?
Hi Susan! The sew along is starting Monday morning, 23rd November (Australian time). I’ll be stretching it over a few weeks so everyone has plenty of time to fit it in to their busy schedules. ?
