Creating a Key Hook Strap

Hi bag makers! Tired of digging through your bag to find your keys? A key hook strap is the perfect solution! In this quick and easy sewing tutorial, I’ll show you step by step how to create a secure key holder for your handmade bags. Once made, simply include the raw end of the strap in the lining side seam or main top seam of your bag during construction to attach!

In this video we will step you through how to –

• Prepare your key hook strap panel,
• Install a swivel hook prior to sewing, and
• Stitch the swivel hook to secure in place.

We are using a 3/4″ (1.8cm) swivel hook, a strip of fabric measuring 1 1/2″ x 11″ (4cm x 28cm) long and a strip of interfacing measuring 3/4″ x 11″ (1.8cm x 28cm) long.
