Creating a Hidden-Edge Zipper Pocket

Hi bag makers! Today we have a lovely little tutorial for you on how to create a beautiful hidden-edge zipper pocket in your bag! Whether you’re new to this technique or looking to level up your pocket game, this tutorial walks you through the full process from start to finish. The video is full of lots of little tips and tricks which will hopefully help next time you decide to create a hidden-edge zipper pocket!

In this video you will learn –

• How to prepare and install the pocket panel facing,
• How to prepare and attach the zipper pocket panel,
• Tips for stitching the zipper cleanly and professionally, and

The referenced pieces are as follows –

• Non-interfaced zipper pocket facing (cut out of same fabric as the panel you are installing the zipper pocket in) – 8″ x 2″ (20cm x 5cm)
• Interfaced zipper pocket panel – 8″ x 8 1/2″ (20cm x 21.5cm)
• Good quality zipper (size 3 or 5) – 9″ (23cm)
