Hi bag makers, welcome back! This week, we’re featuring the second bag in the Quilt Me A Bag series – the Classic Carryall Handbag & Tote pattern!
Not familiar with the Classic Carryall Handbag & Tote? You can find the PDF Pattern in the shop here and the Comprehensive Video Class here!

For this design, Crystal chose to make the tote bag size to showcase the gorgeous designs included in the prints. She used multiple quilt blocks to create the panels of the tote, using the economy square block, as well as some traditional piecing, too.
Fabric for this bag was kindly provided by the super-talented Alison Glass, expertly showcased by a variety of quilt blocks. This collection is called Colour Wheel and is a celebration of full-spectrum rainbow goodness as a perfect follow-up to her beloved Art Theory collection.

For her Classic Carryall Tote Bag, Crystal used a thick and lofty foam to not only keep the shape of the tote bag but also give it that squishy quilted look! It really makes the simple, stitched quilt lines POP!
To keep it classic with just a touch of class, Crystal chose to add a little bit of creativity to the straps without taking away from the main bag by using the Rainbow Stitched in Night print rather than a solid colour. It was all about going classic for this bag, using a classic block for a classic tote.
