Creating a Fabric Zipper Tab

Creating a Fabric Zipper Tab - Andrie Designs

Hi bag makers! Today we have another free video tutorial ahead of our upcoming pattern release (hint hint…) on two different ways to create fabric zipper tabs using nothing but a scrap of fabric and, for one, a scrap of interfacing. NO hardware required! Bonus!

As always, these tutorials are able to be viewed at any time via the Video Tutorials page, with new tutorials being added on a regular basis. Simply click on an image to start the video, and feel free to share across social media as well!

In this video we will step you through how to –

  • Create a NARROW zipper tab,
  • Create a WIDE zipper tab.

We recommend cutting fabric for your zipper tabs as follows (for a standard chunky/long pull/#4.5/#5 zipper) –

  • NARROW tab – cut 1 from fabric, 1 1/2″ x 4″ (4cm x 10)
  • WIDE tab – cut 1 from fabric and 1 from interfacing, 3 1/4″ x 2″ (8.3cm x 5cm)

We are working on the following patterns –

  • Classic Clutch – click here.
  • Shades of Yesterday Tote Bag – click here.
