Hi all and welcome to another pattern release here at Andrie Designs for the That Flap Saddlebag! The That Flap Saddlebag was originally published in the October 2018 issue of the Australian crafting magazine Homespun, as the ‘Glamshell Essentials Purse’. However, since then, she’s had a major update and now includes not just one, but a whopping 10 – yes 10! – appliquΓ© motifs to choose from to really make that flap POP!
From a monstera leaf to a dragonfly, a love heart and even a sugar skull, there’s something for everyone in this pattern which ranges from simple designs up to more complex ones as well.
If you haven’t tried applique before, don’t fret! In the pattern, and even more so in the comprehensive video class, we give detailed and easy to following directions on how to first place your motif on your flap fabric, and then also how to appliquΓ© it in place to give a great finish!
The versatility of this pattern knows no bounds. Use playful fabrics and make a fun bag for a child, or use more striking fabrics to make an elegant evening bag for an adult. Use natural, earthy tones to make a beautifully autumn-inspired bag, or bright floral prints to fit in to spring and all it’s brightness.
As always, the creations our testing team have made from this pattern are simply amazing and their photos speak louder than any words we can type, so letβs get on to checking them out!
