Can you believe it’s already February? I can’t! Let’s take a look back and see what happened here at Andrie Designs in January because it sure was a busy month!
The new pattern for the Summertime Sling was originally released as part of Homespun Magazine back in October but last month Lisa decided for the public release last month, she would add a larger adult size too! This adorable little bag is excellent for beginners and has so many ways to customise it! Add a little decoration or give it a go with cork and you are sure to have fun creating it! If you want more customising ideas head over to the Inspiration Post for ideas from the testers.
Ask Andrie Live Chats
January saw the launch of the Ask Andrie Live Chats held in the Andrie Designs Facebook group! Every week Lisa pops in live to answer all your questions and to talk about what’s happening behind the scenes! Click the images below to see replays of the chats and be sure to join live for the next one on February 6 (later today!).
Meet the Maker
Last month we met the first Meet the Maker of 2018, Rosemarie of Rosie Blooms! She takes basic patterns to a whole new level and is a friendly and supportive maker in the bag community. We loved getting to know Rosemarie a little bit more and if you missed her post, head over to her Meet the Maker interview today!
January saw the launch of a brand new series for Andrie Designs called Customer Creations! Each month we pick from the Andrie Designs Facebook group and Instagram some of YOUR creations to share! If you want to see who made the last last month, head on over to the Customer Creations for January today!

Can’t help but LOVE how quick and easy the Stand Up Tote comes together! 💗💗💗 This beauty will be heading to @precioustimefabricandquilts as a shop sample so if you’re local to the area, feel free to pop in and check it out in the flesh (fabric 😉) 💗💗💗 You can find the Stand Up & Tote Notice pattern at www.andriedesigns.com (link in profile) plus several pattern hacks on my blog 👍
Oh me, oh my…! 😍 Look what I stumbled upon just now!! This absolutely stunning Stand Up & Tote Notice tote bag was made by Janice from @jldbags and the outer is made entirely from different printed cork fabrics!!! EEK!!! 😍😍😍😍😍I absolutely LOVE how this one turned out!!! WOW!! 😍😍😍😍😍 . You can find the pattern at www.andriedesigns.com (link in profile) and remember, a bonus of cork is you don’t need to interface it so a little less cutting and fusing time is required! Hooray! 🎉😉 (Remember to still include the foam though so your bag has a lovely structure to it 👍).
Ooh how gorgeous is this version of my new pattern, the Summertime Sling?! 😍😍😍 This was made by Liz from @bittercandydesign and she went for something a little different in that she omitted the strap completely and instead made a gorgeous travel make up pouch! 💄 Such a great adaptation and how cute are those added tassels?! 😍😍😍 You can find the pattern at www.andriedesigns.com (link in profile) 😊
