Designed to be dual purpose, it is a secure and fully enclosed bag when packed away for transport. Once at your destination, use the caddy to organise your items for quick and easy access.

Featuring elastic loops and a zipper pocket, and available in two sizes, the Be You Makeup Caddy will quickly become your go-to for storage while at home AND away!
The Be You Makeup Caddy is a quick and easy sew, perfect for those who prefer straight seams and a tidy, professional finish (there are NO curves or binding in this pattern).
This pattern comes with two files – the pattern instructions/pieced pattern pages, and a large print pattern pieces file suitable for printing at your local print shop on the correct sized paper. It has 13 pages of clear, detailed instructions. It is suitable for an advanced beginner sewer. All pattern pieces have been digitally drawn. Wary of zippers? Don’t be! Throughout the pattern I give detailed and comprehensive instructions, diagrams and links to our complementary video tutorials to make adding the zippers an easy and stress-free experience.

- Lining Panel (e.g. quilting cotton, waterproof canvas, laminated cotton, oil cloth) – up to 18” x 20” (45.5cm x 51cm)
- Zipper Pocket (e.g. quilting cotton) – up to 9” x 7” (23cm x 17.5cm)
- Light-Medium Weight Fusible Interfacing (e.g. Pellon Shapeflex SF101, Legacy Shapeflex L-SF101) (NOTE: based on a 40”/100cm width) – up to 3/4yd (69cm)
- By Annie’s Soft and Stable Foam Interfacing (or equivalent foam) – up to 19” x 19” (48cm x 48cm)
- Firm Fusible Stabiliser (e.g. Pellon’s Peltex #71F, Legacy #71F) – 6” x 2” (15cm x 5cm)
- 4 Magnetic Snaps – 3/4” (20mm)
- 1 Coordinating Long Pull Zipper (i.e. #4.5 YKK) – up to 17” (43cm)
- 1 Coordinating Dress Zipper – up to 8” (20cm)

I recently made the Be You Makeup Caddy by Andrie Designs and honestly, I was so impressed with both the design and the sewing experience.
What I loved most is how versatile this pattern is. While it was originally designed as a makeup caddy, mine quickly became a sewing organiser filled with clips, scissors, thread, measuring tape, glue, pins and all those little tools that usually end up scattered across my sewing table. The dual-purpose design means it works beautifully both as a secure travel bag and as an open caddy for easy access while you’re working.
The pattern is incredibly approachable. There are no curves and no binding, which makes construction much less intimidating while still giving a polished, professional finish. The instructions are clear and well laid out, and the structure created by the foam interfacing gives the finished caddy a beautiful shape.
One feature I particularly enjoyed was the clever zipper design. When closed, the caddy is secure and compact for transport, but once opened it transforms into a practical organiser where everything is visible and easy to reach. The elastic loops and zippered pocket add even more storage options, making it easy to customise for your own needs.

What a lovely pattern to sew and keep all for your self! I made it with my daughter in mind, but have ended up keeping it (and making her another one) as I liked it so much. The instructions were very clear and the links to the “how to” were great as reminders or for new sewers. I can imagine this being a firm favourite.
